Cookie policy
1. What cookies and local storage are
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser to remember information between visits; the browser sends them to the site on every visit and they expire on the date set by whoever sets them. Local storage (localStorage) is another space in the browser where a website keeps data: it isn't sent to the server and doesn't expire on its own, it stays until it is deleted. The law treats both the same way (Art. 22(2) of Spain's LSSI): anything not needed for the service you ask for requires your consent before it is stored or read.
2. Nothing optional before your consent
If the site uses any optional cookie or data, when you first visit you'll see a banner to accept, reject or customise. Until you decide, only strictly necessary cookies and data are used. "Reject all" is exactly as easy as "Accept all" — one click on either option, with no need to open the settings panel.
3. Cookies we use
| Name | Owner | Purpose | Consent required? | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
consent-preferences | getalmenara.com (own) | Remember your cookie decision (accepted categories, date and policy version accepted) | No: necessary | 12 months |
NEXT_LOCALE | getalmenara.com (own) | Remember the site language (Spanish or English) when it differs from your browser's or when you change it | No: necessary | Session; 12 months if set by the automatic language detection when you arrive at the home page |
lang-suggestion-dismissed | getalmenara.com (own) | Remember that you dismissed the "view this page in your language?" notice or picked a language yourself, so it isn't shown again | No: necessary | 12 months |
csp-nonce | getalmenara.com (own) | Security: random value for the content security policy (CSP) that only lets the site's own scripts run | No: necessary | Session |
rl-id | getalmenara.com (own) | Security: random identifier, with no personal data, used to limit repeated contact form submissions from the same browser. Only set when you submit the form | No: necessary | 12 months |
_lfa | Dealfront, on getalmenara.com | Recognise your browser on later visits to group the pages viewed by the company you're browsing from | Yes: only if you accept "Marketing" | 12 months |
_lfa_consent | Dealfront, on getalmenara.com | Store your consent decision for the Dealfront script itself | Yes: only if you accept "Marketing" | Up to 2 years |
_lfa_test_cookie_stored | Dealfront, on getalmenara.com | Check that your browser accepts cookies; deleted straight away | Yes: only if you accept "Marketing" | One second |
4. Local storage we use
These aren't cookies: they're stored with localStorage and don't expire on their own.
| Key | Owner | Purpose | Consent required? | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
almenara:background-mode | getalmenara.com (own) | Remember the background you choose in the selector (Basic, Night or Starry) so we don't apply the default background on every visit. Only stored when you use the selector, and it doesn't identify you | No: it's a preference you ask for yourself by using the selector | Until you clear this site's data in your browser |
_lfa, _lfa_expiry, __lf_discover | Dealfront, on getalmenara.com | Technical data for the Dealfront script, with the same purpose as its _lfa cookie | Yes: only if you accept "Marketing" | Until you withdraw consent (the site deletes them then) or clear this site's data |
5. Cookieless visit statistics (Plausible)
They use no cookies or browser storage (no localStorage or anything similar) and don't store your IP; they only count visits in aggregate. Because they neither store nor read anything on your device, they don't need your consent (Art. 22(2) of Spain's LSSI), which is why they don't appear in the banner or the panel. They're served from this same domain. More detail, with the legal basis, in the privacy policy.
6. Marketing (Dealfront)
If you accept this category, the Dealfront script loads. It identifies the company whose network you're browsing from (not you) and which pages it views, so we know which organisations are interested in our services. It sets the cookies and data in the tables above, always on this exact domain. It never loads without your permission.
7. How to withdraw your consent
You can change your decision at any time from the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer, available on every page of the site. If you withdraw "Marketing" consent, we delete Dealfront's cookies and data from your browser and the page reloads so its script stops working right away. You can also delete them yourself from your browser settings.
8. Third-party cookies
Only Dealfront's (Dealfront Finland Oy, Finland, EU), and only if you accept "Marketing": they're set on this domain, but its script sets and reads them. If another third-party service that stores or reads anything in your browser is ever added, it will be added to these tables before it is enabled, with its owner, purpose and duration.
